African Youth Development Fund

KeMoja coaches award ceremony

The 2020/2021 KeMoja awards ceremony was hosted by the Department of Social Development in partnership with African Youth Development Fund on the 15th October 2021 at the Birchwood hotel. Through partneringwith different NPO’s we manage to reach the lives of Youth in different areas, which is no easy feat.  The award ceremony is hosted annually to appreciate the KeMoja coaches and the various NPO’s for their dedication and hard work in their quest of being advocates of positive transformation and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in our communities. This small token of appreciation states that their commitment does not go unnoticed.

The 2020/2021 award ceremony was evidence of ‘you reap what you sow’ as many coaches left with dozens of awards and cheques. The ceremony however is not just about awards, but a reflection of the time and work they put in in impacting the lives of youth and learners in and out of schools. When asked how they do it, their answer was through hardworking and dedication.  Though some NPO’s did not win, it was a learning curve and a moment of inspiration to work harder next time.

To grace the stage with their wonderful talents were the 2020 Alternatives KeMoja music and KeMoja beat provincial winners which are Melodic Tee and Native Nation.
